Storyline:
“DESPERADA is about mentally ill patients rescued from the streets and brought to a shelter owned by a lesbian psychology graduate and medicine undergraduate MIRIAM (Sue Prado) whose advocacy has been to take care of homeless persons with mental disorder. Miriam rescues BRENDA (Robb Guinto), a young woman who has gone through a gamut of abuses that tentatively broke her. Inside the shelter, Brenda meets various characters who’ve also had traumatic experiences. Despite the abnormal environment, Miriam does her best to make everyone feel they belong to a family. In the shelter, Brenda meets her ex-boyfriend LUCIO (Yasser Marta).
